In 2007 Jaquet started a cooperation with the largest manufacturer for helicopter turbines, the French company Turbomeca which belongs to the Safran Group. Turbomeca delivers approximately 50% of all turbines sold today and has more than 15'000 engines operating in the field.
Jaquet was selected by Turbomeca to supply 6 different speed sensors which are used for speed indication, speed regulation, overspeed protection and torque measurements. Jaquet's ability to provide variable reluctance sensors for demanding applications such as automotive turbochargers was one of the key elements for this partnership. In order to meet the high quality requirements of Turbomeca, Jaquet successfully was certified according EN9100 in 2009. Getting to know the specific requirements of the aerospace industry such as an elaborate supplier's management, a detailed level of documentation and specific quality gates in the development process, helped Jaquet to further improve its expertise to be a sensor supplier for many different markets.
The first sensor type for Turbomeca was successfully qualified in the first quarter of 2011 and is scheduled for serial production in summer 2011. The qualification of 3 sensor types other will be finished in the second quarter of 2011. The qualification of the rest of the sensors will start in the second quarter of 2011 as well contact.
